We've had several, even a few fascist presidents. BO is just the next in line.

Guys, they've been making firearms for almost 200 years! They aren't some conspiracy organization trying to shut down gun manufacturing. This would be like Colt or S&W or Springfield all the sudden telling the world they are done making guns and are now the biggest financier of the Brady Campaign. Sure, stranger things have happened but let's be honest here, this isn't one of those times. Loosen up the tin-foil hats.

    Default Market Forces

Of course if I could, I would try to monopolize the firearms market and make a huge profit. You would have to buy my guns. I am not sure what the actual strategy here is. I bet it is similar to Walmart and its ability to shut down small businesses by using huge economic clout. As Henry Ford used to say, "you can have a Model T any color you want, as long as it is black".
You can buy any gun you want as long as it was made by Cerberus. The list is:

Bushmaster isn't going away. They are just closing their Maine manufacturing facility. They still have their headquarters there as far as I know. Considering how anti-gun that part of the country is and the fact that Maine isn't exactly a business friendly environment, this isn't that surprising. Bushmaster still has a plant in AZ. They also have an R&D facility in GA. This is just business, nothing more.

Too bad we don't have a state gov/legislature that would be willing to lobby Bushmaster/Cerberus/Freedom Group to bring those manufacturing jobs to Colorado.

I wonder what the employee discount is?

Strictly business thinking, not anything else

If Bushmaster thinks what is gonna happen in a few years instead of what happens tomorrow, they are definitely moving part of their operations out of the US.
Right now for example Colt, DPMS, Sabre and some others are making rifles and/or parts outside of US. By doing this, they can legally avoid US senseless, time consuming and expensive export regulations = sell their products to other markets outside of US competitively. Things were different years back.
