Was it court ordered that he couldn't get a dog?

Does he genuinely want a dog because he misses the companionship of a pooch? Or is this some publicity stunt to dupe the public into thinking he's honestly sorry for horrendously mistreating animals?

My initial thoughts are that he's a punk MF who doesn't deserve a 2nd chance at being a role model for children let alone get another dog. I'm not even a football fan really but I used to enjoy watching this guy play. He's so incredibly talented and entertaining to watch. That being said, I feel that these spoiled overpaid athletes need to be held to an extemely high standard when it comes to ethics.

If he does get a dog it'll probably be the most spoiled dog ever. People will be watching and he'll want to show that he's a changed man whether he is or not.

Even though I'm personally against dog fighting, it is a big and legal sport in Afganistan. It is very hard to get a ccw here in Maryland; but the next best way to protect yourself in the inner city here in Baltimore is a pit bull.
I don't own any dog's currently at the moment; but if I would pick one for protection, it would be a mastiff.
