    Default Photo Radar speed enforcement

On SH 285 between Federal Blvd. an Kipling Pkwy. is being used in the construction zones so slow down to the posted seed limits when in this area. It flashed me doing approx. 43 mph in the posted 40 mph zone.
I'll have to wait and see if it was me it got or someone in the lane next to me and behind going faster. BUMMER.

Edit: Just found out some more information, This is a 7 day a week, Holidays included speed trap operation ! So SLOW DOWN in this area.

If you do get a ticket, take it to court and demand to confront your accuser in a court of law.

(Joking, thanks for the heads up)

Colorado law requires them to ticket you in person.
rip it up and throw it away.
    do NOT pay it.

they can send someone to your house and charge you more money for serving it, but it never happens.

been throwing them away for 15+ years now.

Good to know! I've been flashed by the 85/62nd light multiple times. Haven't got anything in the mail though.

+1... I got plenty of these tickets. There are 3 speed strap within 2 block radius of my house, and hell with them. They tried to send you the same ticket multiple times, but no courts, no collections - they just disappeared after few months.

Actually, state law allows service through the mail, but you can request personal service in which a nice officer will come to your door and issue you a citation (maybe). Most of these citations if not paid, are sent to the DMV and they suspend your license. I can't tell you how many people I've stopped over the years because their license was suspended for non-payment of tickets, but no warrant was ever issued. It depends upon the jurisdiction and how they handle it. I've seen some go to collections, some to DMV, some just disappear into the ethermist.

the Flashing speed sign is there to let you know what your speed is. The photo ones have a van setup wth an actual person sitting there. This is one from the "private" company contracted to increase revenue. The photo radar ones only want your money and do not carry any points against your lic. The ticket writing construction zone are either county, city or the CHP pulling you over then politely handing you a ticket for approx $200 or more + the magical 4-6pts you just won.

This "speed trap" is one of the vans, and there is someone sitting in it.
In the back, facing oncoming traffic with what looks like a laptop in front of him/her.
