Moving to Another County

Question for those of you that have moved or are in the know.

I'm moving to DC in about a week for work. My job will allow me to have reciprocity for residency. In other words, I will be a Colorado resident even though I'm living in Virginia. That being said, for all intents and purposes I will be moving from Arapahoe County to Garfield County. I have an ACO CCW permit, I just contacted GCSO and they said that I don't need to get a GCSO CCW permit and that my ACSO permit will be valid even though I'm not living in AC. They didn't seem to know exactly what they were talking about. Can anybody confirm that this is true? I've got a call into ASCO as well, just waiting on a call back.

Valid until renewal, then you have to reapply in your county of residence (or in which you lease or own business property). You need to file a change of address within 30 days of moving, failure to do so is a class 1 petty offense.

I don't believe that Virginia will honor your CCW permit from Colorado. You can however get a non-resident permit there.

A Utah or Florida non-resident permit would be valid in VA. Utah is by far the easier to get.

I like how you can take an online class that the state police recognize "Completing any firearms training or safety course or class, including an electronic, video, or on-line course, conducted by a state-certified or National Rifle Association-certified firearms instructor." That would be good for you because you could do it while still here in Colorado, get all of your ducks in a row before you get there.

Nope, but my AZ permit is valid so far as I can tell. AZ doesn't offer "non-resident permits".
