That is the reality of reporting, and it bothers me as well. I once got into an argument with my cousin about the gangs here in Denver not being nearly as bad as the gangs in the midwest. He said something like, "Oh yeah? Well I was watching Gandland and they had a show about Denver gangs and said that they were one of the worst!"

It's not just US soldiers that experience danger.

Afghans don't got MLRS and gobs of artillery pointed at a major world city with intent to level it to the ground. Afghans aren't guided by a dictator who is absurdly prideful and petty, perhaps genuinely insane, stuck in the middle of a succession transition, with the US and Chinese militaries breathing down his neck.
