Ya know, I used to hate cardio also, but now I actually enjoy it, especially the endorphine rush I get out of the deal.
Carbs are probably my biggest downfall, I eat VERY little bad fat, but I loves me some bread products. I'm in really good shape, but if i'd just cut out the carbs, i'd certainly have a six pack.
As said in another thread, if anyone wants to do some early morning gym time at the Lifetime fitness in Parker, just hit me up. We are starting to get the New Years resolution A$$ holes already.
P90x!!!!!(check craigslist)Mostly old school workout mix up. $100 of elastic workout bands cheaper then dumb bells and a good diet.
Total body workout. You won't get bored

More calories out than in. It's all about the calories. Get on a good, healthy diet and you will see results. I lost 50 pounds (because I got sick) and I got toned real quick like. Yeah I was super skinny but my muscles were very defined, not huge but defined, because I had about 1% body fat. CALORIES!
Protein intake is also vital to weight loss.

hmmm... interesting stuff. I should take a before and after pic... No, I'm not putting them up on here! HA.
Graves.... your comment with your avatar is a little weird! HAHA.
Look up fartleks. Running in a group was the best way for me. Indian Run/Army Runs were my favorite. Also, plyometrics will kill you in the best possible. I have P90X and it is a great work out, but the guy is annoying as fuck and you just want to kill him the whole time. I think if you go to Crossfit.com, they list a different work out to do every day to keep things new and fresh.

i hate eating right, its so hard, +1 on group things that helps alot if someone else calls you a slack ass for not doing it
I've been on a run of dropping lbs for the past 4-5 months now and I am not at all worried about putting them back on because of how I've done it. I find one thing that is a bad habit and cut it out until its fully gone. started with soda, it was easy, tea and coffee all over. moved to fast food, moved to not working out, and it just built on itself. Just sold my car, so I need to bike commute now. I don't have too many bad habits left, worst I do is going on shooting trips with a guy who is trying to gain weight! After a while for me it just seemed natural, I can barely drink a full soda anymore and McDonalds holds no appeal and the pounds just keep dropping off (last time I had both was on a shooting trip, had half a Mt. Dew and a sausage McMuffin and felt like crap. I don't want to do that shit ever again.)
I also switch from using negative goals to positive. Drop 10 pounds, you get a 1911, drop 20 you get something else, etc. If I put em back on, I don't get to play anymore. told my wife I was doing this to keep me honest. Personally, There are few meals on earth I wanted more than a Colt. Even if its not monetary, maybe a camping/hunting trip or some such. Got to pick you own poison though. Trying hard and going fast, I have used before and when I got to where I wanted to be, all my bad habits still existed and I just went right back to it and put all the weight back on. With some work I will have to change the screen name to just Mat soon. Good luck, its worth it and you can do it. Take it easy get it done. On thing I keep in mind is "lifestyle" I don't count it as a diet or a rutine, this is how I want to live from here forward. I keep that in mind and it keeps me from getting to impatient and makes me focus on not burning out. I'll buy a car someday again.
