Authorities tell ABC News the incident is not uncommon, but how often it occurs is a closely guarded government secret. Experts say every year since the September 11 attacks, federal agencies have conducted random, covert tests of airport security.

A person briefed on the latest tests tells ABC News the failure rate approaches 70 percent at some major airports. Two weeks ago, TSA's new director said every test gun, bomb part or knife got past screeners at some airports.

If it was me I would NEVER have admitted to the TSA that I had committed a felony but they were idiots and missed it (especially after embarrassing them publicly) ... I'd just swing by a sporting goods store wherever I was and buy a locking case and check the gun on the flight back per TSA rules and pretend it never happened.

A TSA spokesperson says the agency has conducted an investigation, saying remedial training was provided to the security officers involved in the incident. Advanced imaging technology and more stringent pat downs have also since been implemented.

WOW they had em go through some more training! And more stringent pat-downs! That'll really help them catch a loaded gun in a laptop case. Seems to me like they're too busy fwapping to those nudie pics coming through the body imaging monitors.

I may have posted before, but coming back from a hog hunt in FL I was getting my bags through check in.
The bag guy said my bag was 2.5#'s over so I need to remove something.
I opened it and he quickly pointed to my small camobag and said he knows that prolly will weigh abou 3#s so take it in your carry on.

OK so I grab it and hurry to securtiy check.

Place the carry on bag on the scanner go thru the metal thing, Bam remember there is a BIg knife in that bag.
I wait, the two fat ass chicks are talking about lunch, I look NO ONE sees the knife, I grab my shit put on my shoes and head for the gate.
A guy starts coming after me saying Sir, Sir,,, I think I am busted, so I turn around and he says You forgot your cell phone.

So security is a fuk'n joke and the TSA Bull shit is just that.
