Default Rainier Arms XTC timing issue?

So I just recieved my XTC the other day and tried to install it this morning. I'm having trouble with the correct timimg. It came with a crush washer and when I thread the XTC on hand tight, the Rainer logo is at 8-9 o'clock so I have to turn it almost another 3/4 of a turn...not gonna happen. Should I sand the crush waher down a little to give more room for the XTC to turn?

Did you use peel washers or grind the crush washer?
