    Default Hunting-AR style

I am a newb when it comes to the ar world, but I have a bushy carbon15 that is all pimped, but the problem is I want to use it to harvest my antelope, and deer this year. I am looking at complete uppers, similar to the kit herehttp://palmettostatearmory.com/653.php. I know you must use .25 cal(6mm) minimum on big game here, will this kinda kit work with the lower I have even though my lower states it shoot .223/5.56?

That would work with standard AR15 lowers, I don't know if the carbon 15 lower is any different from a standard lower, if not you should be set!

Added: Also don't worry what your lower states on it

Should drop on your lower and work just fine. Of course I am assuming the carbon lower is just like the aluminum ones only in some kind of polymer.

Been a while since I monkeyed with a Carbon 15. I do know they can be problematic at times and IIRC there was a slew of them that cracked at the rear pin boss but I don't recall if it was the upper or lower.
I would be concerned about the additional recoil that say a 6.5 or 6.8 would impart on the lower.
Lowers are cheap enough, why not build an alloy lower?

Also remember to either use a blocked mag or a 5 rounder. That't the max you can have in this state for hunting.

I would love too, however do to lack of funds, I am trying to save some coin, and go double duty and be able to use it as a varmit rig during the summer, and use it for antelope, and deer in the winter. I am kinda leaning towards the stag 5h upper. can someone explain to me the difference between the specI and specII in 6.8 terms

SpecII is a newer higher pressure version , do not shoot spec II in spec I barrel!

good to know. All the factory ammo I have seen in this caliber doesn't even say anything about what spec it is.

I thought the minimum caliber in this state is .243? I know of several people that use that caliber, even on Elk.
