Default My dog is the best!

Just wanted to share a couple pictures with you guys. My pitbull Brutus is the coolest dog ever. I've encountered FEW dogs that are as well behaved as him, regardless of breed. His behavior further improved when I saved his ass from drowning in a frozen lake.

What kind of dog to you all have? Any cool stories to share about them?

Have a boxer... BIG boxer.. about 2 inches taller and about 40lbs heavier than breed standard....wonderful, laid back dog... Wonderful growl/bark when I tell him... trained as an attack dog, but had the wrong temperment... still packs a mean aggressive streak if I let him. Believe it or not, wonderful with my family/friends/ and babies/kids.

Grrr.. can't seem to load pic for some reason...

Mine's a pit/greyhound mix. Best dog I've ever owned. Bruno's nearly 12 now, and I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to have him.

I always thought greyhounds were a funny looking breed but he's a good looking dog. Mixed breeds are the best dogs I've ever owned; have/had family and friends with AKC's and the majority of them were either dumber than a box of rocks or had health issues.

I think a lot of that is because so many purebred's come from puppy mills where they are inbred or the mother's are just bred to death.

I've had people mistake him for a greyhound if they only see him from behind...that only lasts until he turns around. He looks like the top front of a pit leaned out and grafted on to the back of a greyhound. He's strong as a pit, and fast as a greyhound. I got to watch him several years ago go after someone in my backyard who shouldn't have been there; my shepherd mix (TJ) was first out the door and Bruno passed him mid-yard and was a length ahead by the time he reached the back fence, which the young man had just made it over ahead of Bruno. But if he knows that we've allowed you in, he's your best friend. My boy's new chocolate lab is a good dog, but about as much a guard dog as my slippers. My daughter's Bichon is actually a dang good guard dog, just not much in the way of backing up the bark (unless you're a rabbit...)

Great looking dog man. My buddy had a pitbull that was one of the nicest dogs I've known.

My dog's name is Spencer. She (yes she . . my X named her) is a husky shepard mix and was the runt of the litter. She was also the only pup in the litter that didn't look like your traditional Husky. She's currently 14.5'ish years old and is doing pretty darn good for her age. It's amazing to think back what this dog has been through with me. She has been "my rock" during a few different challenging times in life.

Quick story . . . As you can see in the pic her nose has some lighter colored pigmentation going on. I lived with a couple of my friends at their dad's house. The dad, Alan, used to come over and take care of the pool and what not. One day he was dumping a bunch of chorine in the pool. Spence came up and started biting at the stream of chlorine just like she would do to the water stream from a hose. After getting a couple tastes of the checmical she retreated to under my bed. I guess he couldn't get her to come out. He called my buddy John and says "I think I killed Steve's dog.". John goes over and finally gets Spence to come out and drink some water. Alan was relieved but then got all worried because he though he bleached my dog's nose. He was all nervous to tell me. It probably doesn't sound like that great of a story but it was funny as hell. I still give that old man a hard time about it when I see him every few years.
