hm,
Plastic Sled + Extreme cold + Impact of any sort = Breakage
As Pricey as they are I would go with the wooden ones.
We have a hill in the greenbelt behind my house. I can watch my boys from the warm house through the window.![]()
My son got his first staples tonight, 3 in the head as a reminder not to be stupid when sledding, good times.
Oh man, sorry to see that, hope he's doing ok. Reminds me of a time my best friend and I were sledding, in our elementary school days. It was a VERY steep hill, that produced speed quickly. Apparently the speed wasn't enough, because we thought it would be fun to build a "ramp" 3/4 of the way down. After that got boring, we figured it would be fun to see if we could launch a sled across the path as we were going down, to jump over the sled. Needless to say, that sled wound up making contact with my buddies face, and by the end of the day, both of his eyes were swollen shut. Good ole sledding war stories.

I always used a saucer. Man I loved those!
Do people still sled up at Burland Hill off of 285? That was always the best one when I was a kid

HAHAH... my brother and I as kids in Germany: "Is the hill or icy stairs quicker to get down in snow?" I took the hill. Brother had 24 stitches in his butt from the stairs. We used old metal trash can lids as sleds and the stairs shredded his into shrapnel, lol. Good times.
To get the effect, these were stairs going down said hill... so like three stories worth of stairs in one continuous stretch... fantastic.
