    Default AK47 rear sight

Anyone ever use a rear sight other than the tangent sight? I am considering changing to something else but don't know what. Post some pictures of what you have.

I've used a 1/8" round file to create a wide rear U notch, similar to a Fuller conversion. Jim's is somewhat narrower, and works very well with the stock front. I went with the XS 24/7 BEEFY front blade, and found the 1/8" opening to be better for me. To be fair, Jim was just starting to really offer these when I got mine (as part of a proto group, i should add), and his current ones may be (certainly can be made) wider for the XS blade. Here's Jim's site, with a pic of his sight cut, 'bout 1/3 of the way down. http://www.rifledynamics.com/services/ak.php

Since then, I've gone to http://www.tech-sights.com/ on two of my rifles, and a Krebs rail w/peep on the third. I prefer the TS product to the Krebs, for open irons.

    Here's a link w/pics I posted on barf.com http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=56&t=130630
