Gee, by that reasoning what does it matter if we have waiting periods, limits on number of firearms purchases, "arsenal" permits, etc. If you don't care about the sort of incrementalism mentioned here on the passport applications, and lots of other folks, even hunters, don't care about the incrementalism of "assault weapon" bans and such, what's the difference? None. Same thing, different topic. I'm with BP. I don't like the idea of morals being dismantled by people who have none, while they try to tell me what's right and wrong, while simultaneously telling me I don't have the right to decide that for myself or my kids.

The only thing that irritates me about them doing something like this is the cost involved. I'm not going to get in to the whole marriage debate, as it doesn't impact me if people are a normal husband/wife, gay, etc.

As for gays feeling entitled, I don't see why they shouldn't be given the same rights as a traditional married couple, but I don't think anyone should be entitled because they're part of a certain group. They should be allowed all of the same rights to be miserable as the rest of us, and since it doesn't have any impact on me, I could care less. As for morals as a society, the only morals that matter are my own, so what other people do: fuck it. As for a traditional family, I'm glad as hell mine broke up at a young age, because the fighting and abuse of my "traditional" family sure was grand. But I respect that some of you have different beliefs, and that's fine, as it doesn't impact my beliefs at all.

What a dousche, I may have been inclined to pull him aside (away from the daughter anyway), and describe in GREAT detail, what makes my "friend" and I, more than just friends. Okay, maybe I wouldn't have, but that comment would nearly drive me to.
