I'm getting my son into more camping and hiking and he needs some basic navigation instruction (and I am always looking for refresher's). He's 11 would he be okay to come along.

Longhunter's water class will be near the springs, and if I can make it, I'll be doing my water treatment stuff during it.

Water treatment will be done again, by request, but at this point I'm probly going to finish the compass classes as scheduled and let this go. Despite 11 RSVP's 2 people showed. One of which was my girlfriend who was riding with me so she had no choice, though she claims she went willingly.

thanks for the compliment. ill still do stuff that others can join in on but the amount of time and effort i put into lesson plans and such is killing my free time for very little response. in all fairness i was warned this would happen when doing these for free.

It's unfortunate you didn't get a better response to your free classes but how could you expect a better turnout if your charged money to attend? Maybe I'm just missing something.

the $ they put down and dont want to loose maintains their commitment to attend.

if its free there will be little lost from no showing. if forced to show for a free class interest also goes down hill i.e. training classes put on or paid for by employers.
