We used to go to church at a place that is now the Salvation Army located at 120th and Washington. It's the anchor unit in the plaza, and although one floor, still pretty high. On the side of that building are some bricks that were built into the wall, but stick out about a half inch (decoration, I suppose). When my friend and I were about 6, we convinced our sisters (4) to follow us up onto the roof, climbing up flush against the wall. When people told our parents about what we were doing, my sister was heading back down but was still 3/4 of the way up. My dad was calm and collected and asked her how she was doing, to which she replied "fine." She made it down, but I bet my dad's heart was climbing up his esophagus at the time. I got my butt spanked big time, lol.

We wouldn't have things like the NFL, NHL, Nascar, sky diving, the X games, etc. etc. etc. if boys didn't have the tendency to do crazy stuff. It's a god given trait. Better you found him jumping off the top bunk in his sister's room rather than playing with her dolls.

I'd be more concerned if your boy was sitting quietly ... wearing clean, color coordinated neatly pressed clothing with his hair combed.

    *shudder*

    That wouldn't end well.

He did this 2 time before I went up there. This is also not the first time he has done this. We took the ladder off of the bed, which the girls don't care about, and he still climbs up the side of it jsut like they do. What is wrong with little boys? This is the same boy I posted pics of in the "teach your children well" thread that built his own little guns with no help. Anyone elses boys anything like this?
No claim to expertise, but my boys are 20 and 18 yrs old. I always saw these things as "teachable moments." When they begin jumping off of high objects (almost all of them do), you must instruct them in the proper parachute landing fall (PLF) technique. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgpaO...eature=related

Childhood should be a fun way of learning to be a decent adult.

He jumps onto them like he is attacking them. He is a rough housing little son of a gun! At least I know if he keeps it up, he isn't going to be some little wussy as he gets older.

Sounds like a Special Ops trooper in the making.

My son was pretty mild growing up. It's now that he's 18 (19 in a few weeks) that I'm concerned about him.

Me, on the other hand.... the stories I could tell of the crazy stunts my friends and I used to pull (hanging each other from a tree along one of Kansas City's most major roads).
