    Default Military Leadership Diversity Commission

Cool...I'm certain there's nothing like living through the atrocities of war, exposure to brutal social decay in ravaged communities, being required to commit violence against another to survive or being the target of sexual abuse and physical assault to "put hair on a women's chest!"

But...hey...there's promotions to be had and "PC pussies" to pacify in the good ol' "Diverse" USSA.

Me? I really don't care, my service days are long gone. Some women "want that" Rock-n-Roll...I guess...

Women Should Be Allowed in Combat Units, Report Says
    Published January 14, 2011 | Associated Press

“…yet another sizeable social change in a force that in the last year has seen policy changes to allow gays and lesbians to serve openly for the first time in the military and to allow Navy women to serve on submarines for the first time. “

“…recommended by the Military Leadership Diversity Commission, established by Congress two years ago, and expected to send its report to Congress and...Obama in the spring.”

"The Armed Forces have not yet succeeded in developing leaders who are as diverse as the nation they serve," said the report, which also touched on recruiting and a range of other issues affecting the diversity of the force. "Minorities and women still lag behind white men in terms of number of military leadership positions."

I don't even want to imagine the drama resulting from an infantry platoon out in some FOB or COP in the middle of nowhere, with one or two females and the rest males.

Sure, there are some women out there who are hard as nails, but to me the potential drama issues are just too much.

Seems like if they get the option to choose combat positions or not, the problem would take care of itself. Maybe.

The Armed Forces are never going to be "as diverse as the nation they serve." For one thing, the Armed Forces don't want to have the same percentage of criminals and psychos as the entire nation, not to mention treasonous Bill Ayres-wannabes (Bradley Manning not withstanding).

Having said that, I don't really have a problem with women in combat units as long as they pass all the training and physical standards (no double standards) and don't ask for special accommodations. I saw plenty of women on active duty who were far more combat ready than I was.

I have seen some pretty tough/mean lookin women in uniform heading across the pond to play in the sand while walking through the airport terminal.

if they meet all the same standards and know what they are in for without expecting some kind of special favors or easier testing or special treatment...i say let em go for it.

Here we go again...Please wait until I retire from the Guard in 2 years. Then you can PC it all the hell, allow anyone you want in and I won't have to deal with them.

    Man, I'm becoming a crotchety ol' f$%^k!

Hasnt worked for the IDF since 1948, dont see it working here either. I'm sure these two are killing machines, but cant imagine them on the front lines. IMO

Don't mistake the princesses playing at entering the IDF with some of our good old American country gals. I'm far more concerned about open homosexuals serving than having women in combat units as long as the women don't ask for or expect special conditions or treatment. I'm not saying we want to be like the Norwegian Navy with women sailing while very visibly pregnant.

I've made plenty of jokes about propane-powered hair curlers but we have women who can run most men ragged, shoot with precision, and keep their cool under fire. Granted, they're not the majority but there are enough of them out there that I no longer have the objections I once had. Hell, I'd rather have them on the line than a lot of the gangbanger-wannabes who want to spray-n-pray like they do in their video games.
