Did as Jerry directed and when I got down to the "message editor interface block", I get the choices of Basic Editor, Standard Editor, Enhanced Interface and the enhanced interface is the one that has been in that block all the time. Clicked on SAVE on bottom. Still can't get smilies or the quote marks.???????????? I have noted that in the little tool bar right immediately above my first sentence in this message block (that is while the message is still being composed and yet to be sent) there is a smiley face but clicking on it also made no difference. ????????
