No brass media. I picked it up in a gun store in Oklahoma. I just but in my RCBS sidewinder tumbler. I put in everything from 9mm to 50bmg. Ran it for an hour and a half and the brass was super clean. I just put in a little dawn dish washing liquid. I put some " range brass" in also. ( super dirty) and it came out like new. I think its actually easier than the regular media.
brass media huh? pictures?
And where did you acquire the brass media? Any cheaper than the stainless product? I'm ready to buy one or the other.
I got it in a gun store on Okla. It actually cost more than the stainless but they had it in stock. If I was ordering I would get the stainless. Plus you can use a magnet to clean up.
Well I broke down and ordered the Stainless media and the Thumblers Tumbler should be here the end of the week. I'll give my thoughts on it later.![]()
Got the steel media and the Thumblers tumbler going today. I put some 300 RUM cases in that I have already tumbled in corn-cob media. I thought they were clean. After 3 hours in steel media, 1 gal water, 2 tlbs spoons liquid soap, 1 tea spoon of Lemishine. BIG difference!!
The water came out black. I can see the bottom inside the case and its shiny inside ond out! Great job of cleaning!
Only down side, not that big of deal you can only put 2lbs of brass in following their directions. Ok if your cleaning 9mm, 40 or 45 smaller cases. 300 RUM you can only put in 50 -60 pieces.
And if you check the load and want to reseal the lid make sure the little frickin pins are not on the rubber seal around the lip. Took me a bit to figure out why water was leaking out.
I like it though! Gona start some 45acp next.![]()
nice...does the brass look brand new again?
