+1000. What a bunch of BS. I am sure there is some high power attorney out there that would want thier name on a winning case such as this one.

What's next? the newark SWAT team going to raid my apartment and confiscate my guns because I'm in violation of their laws? never mind the fact that I don't live in new jersey. the presence of my firearms in CO are contrary to new jersey, thus creating a hostile national environment to their laws.

    fuck em all.

No, it's worse than the armpit. More like the rear end with a bad case of dysentery.

I agree, but land has not political affiliation.

it's the dead weight people we need to shed.

It's a very dense state. I got out of there over 40 years ago and I'm glad.

I went through something very similar but it was in Boston Logan airport and was 18 years ago.

I was traveling to my new duty station in Pensacola FL. Since my previous A school was in Ft. Meyers MA, my connecting flight brought me back through Logan on the way there.

I had a 7 hour layover. My baggage was returned to me. As such, so was my 9mm in sea bag. On the way back through the security at the time, to even get to the airline stands and the security lockers where I had intended to lock by luggage up. I informed the guard at the time of what was in my sea bag, that it was declared through the airline.

He asked that it be opened. I unlocked the bag. There was the neon card with the airline declaration, signed by an airline rep. He asked that I open the locked case. I unlocked it. He called over the state patrol and that was the start of the rest of my layover.

I spent the next few hours down in the state patrol office, one trooper after another coming in and telling me how much trouble I was in, that I should sign a statement, they were going to book me etc. I was never placed in handcuffs. I was not allowed to contact my chain of command, I was not allowed to contact the USO at the airport.

So after about 3 1/2 hours it turns out that during this time, the airline rep was informed of what occurred.

What happened next was one of the funniest and most memorable things I've seen. The lady airline rep ripped those troopers up down and sideways. Recounted a story after story of how many times she has had to come down there and recover passengers from this type of situation.

She got my baggage and placed it on a carryall and escorted me to the airline, got my baggage checked again and off I went to FL with no further problems.

For as much as I'll never forget that incident. I feel bad that I've forgotten her name. I believe the airline was Delta though, I did write the airline and commended her actions and her help. Never heard anything back though.
