Default What does Palma stand for? (if anything?)

I know someone who shoots PALMA, but I cannot find any specific meaning of Palma? I understand the sport, just looking for what the name means.

    googling hasn't helped.

Here is a history of the match. The third paragraph has an explanation of palma.

I was giving you more credit than that, Sniper. I figured you were seeing Rosie Palm and her five sisters....

    Iron sighted rifles. 308s.

    Targets at 800, 900 and 1,000 yards.

    Coats and slings.

    Manly stuff.

I shoot it every once in a while, but use a bi-pod and a scope called F-Class. And as a bonus the NRA specifically outlawed suppressors at any of their matches. So I only shoot the Remembering the Heros matches.
