I have been.

But where's Big5 and how are the bores? Gunshop here in town has two for $129 with dark bores. I'd pay that much if they had pristine bores after all a $90 rifle + shipping + transfer fee would equal that.

Also how many do they have. It'll likely be weeks before I could drive to Denver to pick one up.

They run a sale on them every couple of weeks, I just hadn't seen them this low before. There is one in Durango at 400 So. Camino Del Rio. Thats the only one I see one Your side of the state.

The couple I got there, were in good shape the 91/30 was a little dark but, the M44 was just about pristine.

Holy shit! I'm closer to Denver than Durango Marlin. It's only about 2½ hrs from here to Denver in good weather. I think Durango is about 3½/4 hrs away.

I've got a couple of 91/30's with dark bores but I do want a M44 and it might as well have a good bore if I can get one.

How would you compare the 303 British to the 7.62x54R?

I just ordered 880rds of 7.62x54R for $86.96-shipped for a friend.

I was thinking it'd be worthwhile to practice shooting off-hand -vs- $.40-$.50/rd 260 Remington.

Seems like Big5 has sprung up all over the place here in the Springs and Pueblo.

What 7 said, They're sales are an ongoing thing. Go five weeks in a Row and You could really beef up the C&R collection.
