    Default Snarky legislator WIN!

    http://johnrlott.blogspot.com/2011/0...tizens-to.html

Five South Dakota lawmakers have introduced legislation that would require any adult 21 or older to buy a firearm “sufficient to provide for their ordinary self-defense.”

The bill, which would take effect Jan. 1, 2012, would give people six months to acquire a firearm after turning 21. The provision does not apply to people who are barred from owning a firearm.

Rep. Hal Wick, R-Sioux Falls, is sponsoring the bill and knows it will be killed. But he said he is introducing it to prove a point that the federal health care reform mandate passed last year is unconstitutional...
Modern liberalism is based on the idea that reality is obligated to conform to one's beliefs because; "I have the right to believe whatever I want".

i saw that, a county in fla (orange county i believe) passed a similar requirement back in like 1997, slowed crime for a long time, you had to opt out by going in and signing papers, they never enforced it, but it made the criminals think twice about entering your house.
Self control: The minds ability to override the body's urge to beat the living sh.. out of some ass.... who desperately deserves it.

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

Or at least give gun purchasers a tax credit. They give you money for buying new windows, washing machines, refrigerators, cars, houses, dish washers and more....

Catron county in NM also had something along those lines too about the same time. I don't know if you could opt out though.
