My first 1911 to shoot was a stock Colt Government model, series 70. The first one that I owned was a Colt Gold Cup Series 80. Both in the only caliber g-d intended the 1911 to be.... 45ACP!

My first 1911 was a Colt. I couldn't hit anything with it. It was one of the few guns I ever sold. Fast forward twenty years I decided I wanted a 1911 just to have one. I ended up with a RIA. I have had no problems with it and it shoots a lot better than I can. I can shoot it a lot better than my first Colt for some reason.

I loved my Colt, but they require a lot of work to be accurate and shoot well. I own a Springfield TRP now and all have to say is that it is the most accurate 45 I have ever owned.
