If your son hadn't been there, in someone else's home, carrying a weapon, jacked up on drugs and alcohol, he wouldn't have been there to be shot. The only warning required was a locked front door. I'm sorry for your loss, but bad decisions have bad consequences. If you want to do something about this, and help prevent events like this in the future, work to convince the people in your community that burglary/robbery/theft carries an unacceptable risk of DEATH. Don't blame the shooter, he was only protecting himself from attack.
