Had a couple different guns and an officers knife. Sold them to a collector a few years back for a Nice profit.

Wow , just read the plane story , frikin bad ass . collecting things are great , loved my Mauser with all the markings intact (had to sell it many years ago , broke my heart ) .
to answer the uniform question . Some were wearing the paratrooper uniforms but my problem were with the ones wearing the black ss uniform (yep the ss is lower case cause i dont think much of them ) . Honestly I have always had the most respect for the regular fighting man , its the fanatics I have a problem with .Being a collector myself I truly understand the desire to obtain items from all armies . And yes the german army was a good looking army but i also think my gal looks great in her dress but im not about to put that on ether. lol .
honestly i had no idea my bathroom thought would lead to so many comments .
hum....i wonder dose anybody have a Mauser with all the markings that they would be willing to trade ???? pm if you do thanks

I do have several Israeli Mausers made on WWII German kar98k rifles. They are a great argument against gun control. Most, but not all Nazi marks were peened or ground off.

There was a friend of my father who'd been in the troops advancing into Germany who had a fancy set of China with gold marking and Nazi marks. he showed it to me when I was a kid and I said, "But you're Jewish!" He gave a very scary smile and said, "Trophies". I'm sure he would have been pleased to had Hitler's head mounted on his wall next to the deer heads. I wonder how many soldiers he encountered who never managed to surrender.
