I used to be a part of the WWII Historical Re-Enactment Society here in Denver in the 80's when I was a teenager. We dressed up as 10th Mountain Div Soldiers and reenacted with German reenactors along the hogback next to what is now C-470 in the Morrison area. Great fun and I learned a lot about the units and their history from these guys.

Later, I was stationed in Germany in the Infantry and was able to actually see the areas where the battles occured. At the time (mid-80's), West Germany still had WWII pillboxes in areas, old wrecks of the Panzer tanks used for target practice and a lot of of history of the war was evident everywhere. Along the French/German boundary, they still had trenches and tours of the trench systems used in WWI and in WWII.
