    The alcohol will probably remove the oil from the plastic and make it brittle. Just put it back into the kit. Anything on it will die in a few hours.

    10% bleach solution, then rinse. GTG. Bleach won't effect the plastic.

    buy yourself a good metal whistle. preferably one with a rubber cover on it...exposed metal can get damn cold depending on when you have to use it
