If it wasn't about money the lawsuit would be filed for $1. That's not the case though. All people who wrestle a cops gun away from him then proceed to shoot him deserve to be alive right? And if not the family at least deserves a paycheck for not having that wonderful individual present in their lives correct? I have faith a semi-sane judge will laugh this one out of court, unfortunately the policeman's family and the jurisdiction as a whole will have to put up with these people's bullshit a little longer.

Tally up a million dollar bill and send that to their sorry ass. demand they kill themselves or move out of the state or else they will proceed with the lawsuit.

All seriousness, government entitites can't countersue on cases like this; however, individuals can. Have the widow sue the crap out of the family for their POS of a son causing the death of her husband, the Deputy. Violated his civil rights by killing him. That's what they are alleging in their suit. Sue them back! Take every damn penny that family has, to include their damn double-wide they live in. Of course, in reality, what will she get? Not much, because the POS wasn't worth anything, didn't have anything and didn't have insurance on anything.

I've just read the first of three pages of this thread but I agree with sniper on this -PLUS...

I say the family of the slain officer files a lawsuit against the murderers "estate" as well as the parents - for personal liability for the loss of income the officer would have probably provided for the next 20 years, emotional distress and hardship, etc.

The only ones held accountable for their actions these days are those who actually try to do the right thing.

Is it possible the killers family and their attorney are consulting with the Baghdad city council on how to extort money from people who are trying to provide security for their ignorant souls?

Just seems like the same story on a different scale.
