inversion tables?

Anybody here have or use an inversion table for back ailments? I have lumbar stenosis and it's driving me nuts. I need to do something until I can get the surgery done, and I'd like to hear some experiences/opinions about these things. There's one for sale locally on CL, looks like a decent one. I'm a lardass so I need a stout one.

My boss, who has a bunch of back problems (as do I) swears by the thing. Loves it and talks about it all the time.

Cool, starting out with a positive! Do you know if you actually hang upside down, or just kind of at a slant?

A lot of those tables have different positions you can set them to. Most people just go at an angle and not at a full 90 degrees. I'd like to get one myself.

it worked absolutely fantastic for me UNTIL i tore retina. Seems neither i or the wife decided to read the "Instructions". after going dark in my left eye @ 75ish on hwy 34 on the road glide we had to sell it. too bad, as it was truly the only thing (OUTSIDE OF THE EYE DAMAGE) that worked for complete spinal and lower back issues.

as with anything medical, consult a physician before you invest in it.
ensure you dont have heart/Pressure issues or are prone to arterial/vascular incidents/accidents.

I used one after my accident for quite a while, I enjoyed allot of pain free days and eventually no longer needed it.

we have one and my wife loves it, says it really helps, I on the other hand can only take it at an angle, not completely inverted, if I do I feel like my head is coming off. so you might try it that way also. I find it does relieve pressure on the spine even when only at an angle.

My cousin bought one for himself, I can ask him about it. He tends to buy stuff and stop using it, I'll see if he still uses it. He has spinal stenosis and 3 herniated discs.

Inversion tables are great, but if you have or have had ankle problems it might be a little harsh on them. If I was you I would get a hold of my doctor first before buying one.

My back surgeon actually suggested it, so I guess he's good with 'em. Chriopractor did too. For a fat old man, I actually have perfect blood pressure and no other real problems. There's one for sale here in Parker I'll probably get, looks like a good 'un.

I can remember when they first came out with the Death Bars that mounted in a doorway, and you had ankle cuff things with hooks on them that you'd hook over the bar and hang like a bat. I can imagine getting on and off the bar was an experience.
