Default one billion reasons to keep to ourselves

Another billion reasons we need to worry about ourselves instead of everyone else.

So essentially, they want us to pay them for protecting them while we put them in power.

    Really?

Baghdad city officials seek $1B for war damage

BAGHDAD — The Baghdad city government is demanding that the United States pay $1 billion and apologize for damage to the city caused by blast walls erected during the nearly eight-year long war.
In an official statement posted late Wednesday on its website, the local government says U.S. forces had marred the “beautiful city.”
It says the blast walls “put up at the pretext of security” damaged the sewage system and sidewalks, caused traffic jams and paralyzed business.
City officials want an official apology and $1 billion to pay for the damage.
Thousands of blast walls snake for miles across the capital, protecting buildings and military compounds and sealing off whole neighborhood

So. Let's do the math. A JDAM costs what, $18k or so? We could just pay em back with 55,500 of those or so.

Naw, we should always reach out to other countries so we can manipulate their government, then apologize, after we get our selves in deep shit.

Why take care of the homeland.

Offer to remove them this way, or let them remove them all by themselves at no cost to us. Either way, I'm good...

Hey! It's the Pottery Barn method of foreign policy. We broke it - we bought it. Maybe we can sell Iraq on Craigslist. Under the free section.

How about we bill them for all services rendered over the past 8 years....The cost of sending every troop there, every bullet used, every dime we paid to secure their freedom, every school/hospital/mosque/church/government building we built for them, every civilian worker there to improve their country, etc.... shall I continue or have I listed enough that we should never have to pay for oil again?
