I drive trains, 24hrs a day,7 days week all holidays, weekends 12hrs on duty a day. Start times are when they call you and you have 2 hrs to get there. Your taxes doesn't pay for anything on my job. I don't even pay Social Security. I know that some unions are screwed up but some are needed.
Also you better have a good wife because your not home every night.

yeah I was wondering about the tax dollars remark as well...
Last I Checked Unions were supported primarily by the bilking of the corporations and the worker. On occasion its a local government and the workers (Teachers, etc)
I could be wrong.
