I've been toying around with some handloads in my MAK90 and had a problem the other day with some .308 diameter 110gr Hornady SPs. When one round got fed into the chamber, it dislodged the bullet and it stuck in the bore.

After this, I rechecked the setting on my RCBS seating die but couldn't get the taper crimp any tighter. The only way I have to check crimp is to see how many 'whacks' it takes in the intertia bullet puller to pull the bullet - not scientific but that's what I've got. It seems to be a little loose with the .308 bullets.

I've read of others using .308 diameter bullets without problems but I can't help but wonder if the .003" is what is making my crimp loose.

Any ideas?
