So I need to make a personal record of my firearms. I was going to just list the make, model, and serial numbers. Is there anything else that I should include? I don't know when I acquired a single one of them though.
What do you guys on your lists?

"There are no finger prints under water."
Write down make, model and serial number on plain white paper. Take a pictue of the firearm with the information showing.
Store the information.
I like sex, drugs and automatic weapons. That's why i'm a dues paying member of the Libertarian party. Struggling to keep the government away from messing with the above.
My Wife has her own vice.
Thanks. I guess I could take some pictures as well.

new or used
total invested, sometimes i don't want to know!

Include all accesories, sometimes they are just as much if not more than the firearm.
Why? The rust they have should be enough.

I like all this for sure. I do this on an excel spread sheet, which these days you can do all kinds of things with excel-so don't let the program scare you. I also like the pictures a lot. I take lots of pictures. I keep a hard copy of the most current items in my firesafe, and keep an electronic copy on two different hard discs (not on my computer). I guess I am just a little paranoid. My list is actually more than guns, I refer to mine as a sensative items list (sort of like the military). I have MP3 players on it, computers, some knives, other electronics, etc. I also take photos of anything of value that does not have serial numbers such as all my wife-to-be's jewelry, all of my military coins (front and back), etc.
In the event you need to claim insurance or provide it to law enforcement after a burglary you already have it. And trust me, the cops will love you for this and it makes locating items a hundred times easier when they start looking at pawn shops or comparing pictures to other pictures of found property against the data bases of other LE Agencies (which is done quite often now-as long as their are pictures to do it or an extremely good description, hence why pictures are so good).
Feel free to use any of these ideas, in fact I encourage it.
i use crayons and construction paper and if its a gun i really like i write the name in elmers glue and sprinkle glitter on it , and if im feelin really fancy i spell it out in macaroni , lol , jk , i have a small file box , name of company , place made , ser# , caliber , condition , ect . but its always good to have at least 2 copy's of all firearm info
another good thing to do is find out what the market value is on them just incase you need to file an insurance claim to get them replaced
i know theres a book that comes out every year or so thats like the blue book of guns-Gun Digest?
im sure one of the ffl dealers would have one
