    Default AK Suggestions?

So, yes, here on the AR15 forum I'm asking about AK's . I'm a variety guy so having multiple AR's doesn't appeal to me as much as having a different black rifle (although I'm looking at smaller tactical AR's too, mine is a 20" NMR, so HEAVY!).

I really don't have much experience with AK's and I'm curious the thoughts here on brands and makeups of ones you like.

I think the Arsenal brand is the tops here in the US.... at least I remember hearing that.

I have a romanian, a yugo underfolder, and a norinco. and have been shooting ak's for years, I would stay away from the wasr's as they are very hit or miss, other than them I have never seen an ak not go bang every time the trigger was pulled.

So long as you get to play with a Century before you buy it and get one that you like, you really can't go wrong. I had one WASR that was a turd, other than that every single AK I have owned owned or fired, worked great.

^^^ I agree, But I was one of the lucky ones that have a WASR for the money you realy can't beat them!! BUT you need to know the AK. You need to make slight adjustments and some part replacements to get em to run like a Top. Not to much $$$ ! Hope this helps.

Arsenal makes a well built AK but they are a bit too pricey IMHO. I have a sgl31-94, but I bought it for reasons other than the value. You won't go wrong buying an Arsenal, but I think you can get better deals for comparable quality elsewhere.

Century seems to be the most common AK producer. Buyer beware. I would never buy one without thoroughly checking it out first. And even then you can get bit in the ass. The Military Arms Channel on youtube has a good video series on a problematic Century AK. It was an eye opener regarding Century's so called warranty.
