I'm under the impression that the state on the East coast will let anyone who is allowed to own, carry. Doesn't matter if you live there or not.

I understand why the police would be uncomfortable with this, and I would be too if I was a cop, but that doesn't excuse going against it. Hey, I'm uncomfortable with going to work before noon, but I still do it.

Dude you should be checking with each state not a Colorado centric board. Not that there isn't some pretty good info here, this is one of those, until some drops links to the pertinent portions of the state laws, I wouldn't just take it on faith.

But hey, here is a great opportunity for you to contribute to the fountain of information! Maybe you could track the info down and post the info and links!

www.opencarry.org is a great resource and good place to start. Click on the state on any of those maps and it will take you to a website/s that are local and focused on that state.

Not a dumb question at all because it varies and unfortunately this particular bill in Wyoming does NOT extend these rights to visiting non-residents.

Dude I am just trying to get a heading on the direction of this question. I would not start CCing in another state just because some guy I have never met on a forum say it would be cool to do so.

Yeah...and next thing you know, the bureaucrat in charge of administering the "Safety Course" makes the requirements so stringent few can pass.

    Good luck with that.

I wonder what the colonials would've thought about having to pass a "King's Safety Course" prior to being "allowed" to carry firearms?

I'll second that. The NRA basic pistol class is exactly what it's called, a BASIC PISTOL class. You know, parts of the gun, ammo, loading and unloading, safely handling the gun in a controlled atmosphere.

It does NOTHING to make someone a competent CCW holder because if the gun is needed, nothing is BASIC anymore.

And when the state figures this out, they'll raise the bar. And again, and again until, like someone else said, very few can pass the test.

In an free and open society, there are risks. Either you accept that, or you give up some of your liberty. You can't have it both ways.

Fail. The constitution mentions nothing about training.
