What color should my FAL become?

I bought Marlin's old FAL last weekend and one of the first things I want to do is refinish it.

So: Classic matte black (satin also an option), desert tan (or coyote brown), or some grey cammo type deal (urban marpat, perhaps)?

OD green and standard woodland cammo are less prefered but options I guess.

You know, You can get a couple of sets of funiture, paint them all differant, then just go with what You feel.

I was thinking of doing the whole rifle in whatever pattern.

Got any good how-to links on refinishing? I'm curious what kind of surface prep there is, wether I should sand off all the old stuff or just apply over it.

I'd suggest going ahead and stripping it all down, and making sure that it is very clean before You paint. The paint will stick better and last longer.

You live in Colorado.......Prairie Ghost or any of the 4 in the serries

I haven't found a camo that fools the eye as well as these patterns.

absolutely nothing, I'm just considering options.

well done black does look good but I really like some of the other colors people have done FALs in.

I probably wouldn't do this to an AR, but the FAL .... Dunno, just want it to be something different.

I've always been fond of a camo pattern in neon colors. maybe I'll do an AK like that.
