Took a rifle out last week and was really impressed with the rifle range. I usually find an outdoor range to shoot but this place worked really convenient. They definitely are the cleanest and best ventilated range that I have been to.

I found the cost to be a little steep also though. I couldn't afford to go often but for the occasional trip to check some work up loads it works well.

Thought the shop was nice and the dude behind the counter was very helpful.

2nd trip yesterday and could not be more pleased, way better than the 2 other indoor ranges I use to shoot at. Although I did kill the target mover in lane 5.

I like shooting there, but the drive can take up to 45 minutes going all the way down Wadsworth for me, so it's hard to get motivated to head out that way. The rifle range is nice, but not so much the price . Staff is still alright -- some more friendly than others, but none that I've encountered have been unfriendly either. Seems the rules are still changing, as at one point they said you could stand and fire in the rifle lanes, but now you cannot. Despite the posted rules, you can rapid fire as long as you're demonstrating you're in control of the weapon.

As always, however, I personally prefer to shoot outdoors whenever possible. Over labor day weekend I went to a popular shooting area in the Black Hills of South Dakota where it seemed there was a kind of cul de sac every so often along the dirt road for people to pull off and set up their targets. Only bad thing was I ending up destroying my portable target holder with some .40 cal rounds.

Went there for the first time last week. The range fees are a little pricey but the facility is awesome and the employees were top notch. Friendly and professional

    Question

Seriously, why no Russian ammo? It's steel cased, not steel cored. I don't use any with my handguns, but for my AK, it's actually preferred.

Crawled out from under my rock.

Yes, but not anymore harmful against steel targets over regular FMJs.

If the jacket attracts a magnet, it's a no go - range regulations.
