    Default TRW bolt

I bought a Springfield MIA back in 1980. I never thought much about it till I joined this forum and was reading about these rifles.
I thought mine was 100 % Springfield original
I got to looking at the bolt and it is a TRW
Is this a good thing or bad?
Any body know about TRW parts?

TRW has been considered to be the Cadillac of M14/M1A parts

    Good stuff!

Springfield used to use GI parts, then had to go to cast/imported parts as they ran out of the USGI parts.

Yours should have all GI parts from the date that you purchased it.

    It's a keeper!

Yes that is a good thing. People prefer to have more USGI parts in their rifles than SAI. In fact since you bought that back in the 80s probably all of the parts are USGI except the receiver and maybe the stock.
