There was a lot of confusion with the RAT name-Ontario had RAT and Jeff had RC for Rat Cutlery then he went with ESEE which was part of his training logo.Jeff is a great guy and participates on the forum on a regular basis. A real no BS guy. BF is a great forum if your into knives. I think there's a sub forum for every brand.

Oh, man you have started something now I stayed home sick today. So with time on my hands every since I saw your picture i've been online reading about ESEE knives! I love knives and I have got to have one of these. I'm sure it will turn out to be not just one though - LOL! I've been on the BF forum reading some of the posts also. So I think I am going to order a 4 in the DT. I will mostly use it for backpacking and like the lighter weight than the 5 and think it is big enough for any use i would have.

Thanks for all the replies. I knew I was asking the right group of people. I had never even heard of ESEE. I will have to do a little internet searching and check out some of the makes and models you guys suggested. Thanks!

I will definitely have to do some more looking around but right now the ESEE 6 is looking pretty good to me.

would someone who has an ESEE (3 preferably) take off the handle so I can see what it looks like underneath? It's an odd request, I know.
