Since I'm finished laughing, I'll weigh in. Based on personal experience-

SIG: Love em. On my second one, and nary an issue.

Ruger P-series: Not fancy, sure as hell not pretty, but no gripes.

Glock: If you treat your pistol like you treat your lawnmower, buy a Glock. Apparently the Austrians have not heard of ergonomics.

HK: They shoot good, but they're waaaaay too proud of their shit.

S&W autos: The M&P is the first one they've gotten right.

All are IMHO of course. Let the games begin...

No, it is what works for her.

I am actually a 1911 shooter (20+ years). For many years, if it wasn't a 1911 or a Hi-Power, I wasn't going to touch it. I am attempting to try another platform for tactical, and the XD was the easiest transition. I really dislike DA/SA and DA only auto pistols. I tried to like the Glock, but the more I shot it the more I hated it.

I won’t repeat what I say about HK owners except that it usually the same thing I say about the middle aged male driving the Porsche with an obvious membership to the Hair Club for Men.

HK, for when you just really need a more expensive Glock.

Biggest POS so far I had was.......
    Desert Eagle 357mag.
The IMI one (MKIII?). THat is so POS. I used 158gr w/ >1280ft/s and still won't cycle 1/2 the time.

Biggest POS so far MY FRIEND had was.......
    Walther P22.
Won't cycle 10rounds (1mag) correctly on ANY bulk pack 22lr ammos.

I have owned my Ruger P89DC 9mm for almost 17 years and I can say the same thing. Very reliable and built like a tank. Not once have I had a malfunction with it while out shooting.

I bought a Taurus PT-145 a couple of years ago. My advice to anyone considering one of these would be to buy two of them, your going to need one for parts.

Ruger P series are great shooters and built to last... just like a boat anchor.

I've owned several handguns. The two I hated the most were my Jennings 9mm... that thing jammed about every 3rd round. Probably better served as a paper weight. My other least favorite was my Glock 19. Sorry Glock freaks, but the term "freaks" about sums it up... you've got to be cross-eyed and have abnormally deformed arms and wrists just to get on target with one... oh, and trigger?.... don't you mean "sponge"?

    ....and done.

And for the people that talk crap about H&K and SIG.. have you ever actually handled/shot one? Whats that I hear.. expensive? Stop bitching about the $$$, if you look around you can get lightly used ones for around the same price as a NIB Mattel gun. Yeah, these days people are buying their $300 Iphone surveillance devices so they can play 'keep up with the latest trend' and check their facebook messages every 2 minutes but a high quality handgun is all the sudden too expensive.. gimme a break.

    peace fellas
I once switched to HK, it was ok, had so much crap on it it weighed like 10 lbs. The mag release was a freakin joke, I trade it for a Glock.

I had a few sigs, 228, 2022 and one other. Problem was their finish. You pay that much for a gun, shoot a hundred rounds and it looks like it went through a war. The 2022 was accurate, the 228 was not. They were ok, better then HK. But I still got rid of them.
