Your chances of getting probation or acquittal for premeditated homicide are pretty slim. You're more likely to win the lottery. If you do something like that you are probably going to prison for the duration.

I never said the dad was in the wrong, or that his son's killer deserves to go free. if retribution is his goal, I wish him all the best in obtaining it. But announcing your plan to the world first is just plain stupid. Had he not done that he could have pulled a gary plauchet on the guy then claimed the shock of seeing his son's killer made him snap. not any more, tho. he flushed his insanity defense. and now if something bad happens to the bad guy, who do you think the cops are going to look at first? it may be "fucked up" as you say, but it's true. If you want to look up to a guy for being an idiot, more power to ya.

cebu asked foolish bravado or sincere?

I think it's sincerely foolish bravado.

if I was in the dad's shoes you wouldn't see how smooth my mouth would be running because I'd keep it shut.

Looking up to someone and feeling a sliver of compassion are two different things. His kid was murdered and then eaten. I'm sure that living with that could drive someone a little crazy. If it happened to one of my kids, no question what I would do.

Seek a Letter of Marque and Reprisal from Congress; according to Article 1.8.11 of the Constitution?

Not like the guy that paid a bum $5,000 to off his wife with a hammer, but then the wife fought back and defeated the bum. I think that happened like 10 years ago.

Arrange an airtight alibi...like being in police custody on a misdemeanor, while the killer has a tragic accident involving falling feet first into a wood chipper...

    just sayin....

I hear the next coupon deal on LivingSocial is a discount price on a combo package of a 12' fiberglass ladder and an industrial wood chipper. So.....I could totally see that happening.

    well lets see.

2 wrists, 2 elbows, 2 ankles, 2 knees.. that's 8, plus one to grow on.. and golly gee don't they make revolvers in .22 that hold nine? how serendipitous.

but then again, that could hurt your case.
