Any story told from only one side isn't a story....it's an opinion. There's no validity without the officer's side.

If there hasn't been a federal lawsuit against the city and the cop for depriving them of their civil rights (1st amendment on the bumper sticker, property otherwise), then it didn't happen. I would LOVE for this to happen to me, as neither myself nor my family would have to work again after we bankrupted the city.
So, yeah, the story is either an outright lie or the reporter omitted some clearly material information.
I agree with coloccw, need more info on this.
will wait for more info before continuing with my standard anti-cop rant.

I gotta throw the bullshit flag
I have heard of a officer temporarily securing one for his "saftey" while I dont agree with that tactic, well maybe a bit, I have never heard of a confiscation. Not only would the officer be up shit creek, I think the NRA would be plastering the phone transcript of the gov. for all to see.
Doesn't say if it was confiscated only during the stop and returned or if it was confiscated and never returned.
Even here, by law the police can take your weapon during a stop but must return it when they release you. No reason to raise hell unless they don't give it back.
I will always defend our gun rights but I don't see the point in getting worked up every time a gun is taken from someone. Sometimes it's for a good reason...sometimes not...but we need the whole story before I get my junk in a bunch.
