I just started reading 'One Second After', so I may not be far behind you. Nice looking equipment.
Mylar bags, oxy tablets, and sealer came in today. It's going to be a busy spring break.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Just curious what does that starter setup with all the pkg and accs set you back?
When the man at the door said Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms, I thought that I was getting resupplied!

The pressure cooker was 225. Its the best on the market. You can get one that works and uses rubber seals without a gauge for about 70 bucks. The dehydrator was also pretty expensive at about 125 (if I remember right). Ther are cheaper ones but the cheap opes have a tendency to burn out. I probably skimped on it and have should of gone one model up with more trays and a timer on it. The mylar and oxy tablets was in the ballpark of 75 dollars and then another 125 for a good sealing unit.
I prefer to cry once and get the higher end stuff unless I know there's a product just as good at a cheaper price. For me at least, how long it will last and maintenance is more important than how cheap. There are cheaper alternatives to what I have above, but not better.

It's a 3500 model; 440 watts, 120 volts, 60 Hz. I haven't a clue on the amp draw. I'm just a lowly chemist in training.
It does have the heater and blower. If you want to lower the amp draw, I would look at the models that don't have the built in timer. This model does not have the timer.
