I just got a Sharps 1874 rifle in 45-75 sharps. I am trying to see if it is an original or an American copy.
I don’t think it’s an import, There are no import marks and on European proof marks.
On the left side of the action it says C. Sharps Pat. Oct, 5 1857 on the right just back from the hammer it says C. sharps pat Oct. 5 1843. The serial number 5 digits no letters.
