Are there still AK47 build kits for purchase, and if so, where? Can somebody reccomend a quality model? What price can I expect to pay? Thanks guys!

Gunbroker is worse then going to the gun shows. Try Atlantic firearms and JG sales. I am sure you will find some place better then Gunbroker

    apexgunparts.com has some.

Expect to pay around $300 for one with an original barrel. They have good prices as well.

Forgot to say that you want to get a stamped reciever parts kit instead of a milled receiver for your first one..... Unless your an experienced welder or want to spend $300 on a new receiver

Apex is wonderfull also hard to beat I'd their barrel-less romy kit for about 100 bucks they have, they have 60 dollar us barrels but I haven't used one, I have however used one of arms of america's 69 dollar non chromed barrels and I am very impressed with it especially for the money.

Venders that have stamped receiver kits

    Apex gun parts
    Arms of america
    What a country
    Centerfire systems
    Ak-builder
    Atlantic firearms

Also there are deals to be found on gunbroker, you just have to wade through all the crap to find em

It looks like Apex is out of their $100 kits... closest they have now is $109 for a Bulgarian milled underfolder, with no stubs.

COgunsales has Romy G kits, for $189 (no barrel) $159 if you buy 10, another $5 per kit for hand select

group buy anyone? I was going to get at least 1 kit, possibly 2 for other caliber builds- wish I could pick up more, they're not getting any cheaper...

Not sure if it's ok to plug another forum here. If not, please have Rhianna come and spank me. Gunco.net and weaponsguild are excellent forums about home building. Copes and Apex have been really good to work with and buy from. Can't recommend them enough.

richard from apex mentioned on another forum that they are expecting to get some more of the 100 dollar barrel-less romys in a couple weeks so keep your eyes peeled.

also if you want a fctory barreled ak, what a country has all matching original barreled romy g kits for 329, expensive compared to back in the day of 69 dollar romy g kits but still that's not all that bad, think about it this way we build our 1000 dollar ar's but belly ache about 300 dollar ak kits
