Default Nooob needs some binoculars, pronto

    Hey all,

This is barely related to shooting. I'm going to Phoenix to see Carl Edwards kick some arse this weekend. Am leaving Thursday and I need some binos. I don't know much about them, and don't want to spend a lot right now, the race is already tapping funds. I'll also use them for looking for holes in paper, and boating. No hunting. Any suggestions on mag and lens size. Also, where do you shoot near Woodland?

    Thanks,

Nooob [poke] I don't know why, but I like the polke.

It's harder to hold higher mags on target. If your target isn't small or moving much you can go to 10X, otherwise stick with 7 or 8X.
Most binocs don't have enough mag to look at holes in targets, you need higher power for that.

Found some Nikon 8x36 mid size at Dick's for $60. Let's go racing, boys. [poke]
