also, you could try taking a defensive pistol course, where the whole course is just shooting and learning to draw from holster etc...it'd be worth your time if you'd rather not sit and get lectured about the law for 8hours

basically what I was saying is why pay $150 dollars for something that is and should be constitutionally guaranteed. I will agree that at least in CO you can take a defensive pistol course or something of the like that would count towards a CO CCW.

i know what you're saying...150 is pretty steep..however i just happened to be at 5280 armory when they said someone dropped out of the def. course and i could sign up for $75! to me that's not bad at all...minimum 250 rounds and shooting my 1911 it cost me a little bit but overall a good class and well worth the money.....CCW specific classes are boring and tiresome by themselves..however i think for people who are not familiar with the laws of where/not they can carry it can be difficult for some to decipher the law. i've just heard negative things about the online classes (applications coming back etc) i think its just easier to pay for it the first time and just get it over with! think of it as going back to college for a day, you may not want to sit in there but once you get your diploma(ccw permit) its all worth it!

it was a good deal i think regularly they're 100$ not trying to step on anyones toes here regarding the Armory since i know a lot of you offer classes as well...just letting you know there ARE alternatives to just a CCW specific class!

I would definitely be interested in a defensive pistol class like that, especially for that price! I'll have to start saving my pennies and start looking into taking a class like that.

Why pay some dolt 100 bucks?

Join USPSA/IDPA get out and shoot, after you get classified you can present your membership card as proof of training. I have paid the dolt, but never again.

Because shooting competition doesn't teach you anything about legal issues, surviving the aftermath of a shooting, what to say when the police show up, and on and on.

Some classes are worth the cost of admission. Some aren't. Not all instructors are "dolts" just like all competition shooters aren't Rob Leatham.

Some counties (e.g. Douglas County) do not accept online training, and for good reason.

I plan to apply for CO CCW using my MO training certificate. In MO, the state makes in mandatory for CCW training to be conducted for 8 hours minimum and it includes live-fire qualification using both pistol and revolver. Moreover, CCW instructors must be certified by the state.

Do you think a MO CCW certificate will be accepted for CO CCW application? I will include a copy of my instructor certificate issued by the state of Missouri.
