    Update 04-05-11

Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances I will not be able to complete this season with Team in Training. I want to thank everyone that supported me and donated to this worthy cause. I will continue to run and train for next years season. Next year I will be ready to do a full distance 26.2 mile marathon

Its that time of year again for me. Some of you may remember that I signed up to run the Steamboat Spring marathon/half marathon last year. I did this for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through the Team in Training group. Well I did it. I ran 13.1 miles with their help and yours.

Im doing it again this year. I am signed up to run Steamboat again. I am running with Team in Training again for LLS. I am coming to my brothers and sisters here in the AR community and asking for your help again. As a group we can help fight these brutal diseases. I ask that you go to the link below and donate what you can to help these wonderful people that I am running for.

When people ask me why I am doing this my answer is simple. I am running for those who cant. Im running for those that cant go out on a sunny day because their bodies are too weak from these cancers. Now I ask you to help as well. $50.00 fills the tank in a car for a patient to get to needed treatments. For the cost of a couple boxes of ammo you can help.I know times are hard but I wouldnt be asking if I didnt believe in this cause and what they are doing. I ask my fellow AR shooters to do all you can to help.

    Thank you for your help
    Jeremy

I don't want to derail your thread, but I notice that every time I see a car with a 26.2 or a 13.1 sticker, I always get next to them so I can see if the driver is fat or not. This thread makes me want to go run right now. I'll be lucky if I can go half a mile without stopping. Wish me luck!

When I started this last year I was 230 lbs and hadnt excercised in years. I started by just trying to do a mile and go from there. I can now run at a 10 minute mile pace for my long runs. And im down to 190 lbs You can do it just start slow and keep at it. And I do have a 13.1 sticker on my care

I used to run a lot, and the furthest I ever ran was about 7 miles in a little over an hour. I started gaining weight though, the more I ran. Now I haven't run in about a year and weigh 20 lbs more than when I started running. My normal weight was was around 185lbs. Now I've been holding steady at about 205 lbs for the last year or so. I'm logging off to go run a half mile right now. I'll let you know how it went. Good thing you don't need breath to be able to type.

EDIT: Good for you by the way. Keep it up.
