    Default 1911 Frame Refinish?

Hey gents do you know of any good places in the Denver area to get a 1911 frame refinished in blue?

I have a Colt Government that my Dad gave me, it used to be a late 1980s IPSC race gun. I put a 5" barrel in it and and set it up to carry.

It has a nickle finish on it and the right side of the frame where the ambi safety was is worn. I was thinnking of refinishing is in a nice blue. I know the nickle can be stripped off. TJs can do the job but they do a black finish rather than a blue.

So any good places around Denver?

    Thanks guys.

You can contact Altitude (forum business partner supporter) http://www.co-ar15.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=162 to do you refinishing. His outfit has refinished many of my firearms. The man is an artist when it comes to making your arms look good. There end product is also more durable than the original finish. He has blued and parkerized several of my pistols, shotguns and AKS. They are in Eagle, I always just ship my work to them and they are prompt. They aslo stand by there work. You will have no regrets. Good luck!

TJ's did my RIA, I think it looks great. Might be a little too black for some folks.

But this Colt WWI repro was blued by Colt's Custom Shop (not my gun), and I think it's awesome! If I had a Colt I wanted reblued, I'd send it to them. Whoever you have do it, have the slide done too so it'll match.

I should have threw this out there, I want to have a 2 tone gun so I'll leave the slide nickle.

TJ's does good work, I've had him do a number of things for me with 1911's, Glocks and a buddy had them work on a couple of ARs. They just don't do blue, only a black. Bummer.

That blue Colt is a beauty!

I'm trying to decide what I'll do with the grip safety and main spring housing. Leave them silver or blue them as well.
