    Default Winchester Supreme Platinum?

Was at Wallyworld for some .30-30 on my way out for a day of shooting and ended up picking up some of this stuff in .44mag.
"WTF?" was the first thing that popped into my head when I opened the box to load em up and saw this instead of brass, copper, and lead....

Anybody here have experience with this round? What do you think of it?
Probably a dumb question but anybody know what the jacket is? I did some google searching and found out it has a reverse taper jacket that, if it works like they say, is pretty cool, but haven't found anything on what kind of metal the jacket is.

Jacket is made from copper, but is plated (probably nickel) to "look cool"
Sissy load, like most .44 mag factory loads nowadays.

What makes it a "sissy load"? Shooting it, it feels like a pretty powerful one.

Hot loads in that bullet weight are about 400ft/sec faster.

Similar to 38 special vs 357 magnum velocity difference; but not as slow as the 44 special.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

I found a review on google where the guy chrono'd em out of a 7.5" barrel and all shot just over 1400fps.

Interesting since Winny only rates them at 1250 at the muzzle.

Hot loads with a 240 grain bullet are close to 1600ft/sec at the muzzle

That is 832 vs. 1364 ft/lbs of energy.... HUGE difference in felt recoil and energy on target.
Even at 1400ft/sec and 1044ft/lbs of energy they are no slouch, but could be hotter.

Even small velocity differences at these velocities translate to big number changes in the big bore stuff.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.
